Sheats Goldstein Residence (1961-1963) jest najbardziej znanym budynkiem architekta John'a Lautnera. Wpisuje się w założenia amerykańskiego modernizmu - "organic architecture", gdzie architektura miała być kontynuacją przyrody, środowiska (np. Fallingwater Residence - F.L.Wright).

W 1972 właścicielem posiadłości został biznesmen James Goldstein, który przez następne 20 lat zlecał Lautnerowi prace poprawkowe, aż do śmierci architekta w 1994 roku. Sheats Goldstein Residence (1961-1963) is the most famous building designed by American architect John Lautner. It's part of the foundation of American modernism - "organic architecture", where the architecture was to be a continuation of nature, the environment (eg Fallingwater Residence - FLWright).

In 1972, the owner of the property businessman James Goldstein, who for the next 20 years commissioned Lautner correction work until the architect's death in 1994. Jim continuous to work collaboratively with Duncan Nicholson. The building served as production designer for many films, such as "Charlie's Angels," "The Big

Lebowski ".

Celem projektu było zatarcie granic między wnętrzem a zewnętrzem. Budynek miał "wrosnąć" w naturę, stać się jej częścią. The aim of the project was to blur the boundaries between inside and outside. The building was to "grow into" the nature, to become a part of it. Thanks to many of glazing, lack of supports in the corners, the house became the frame for the view of Los Angeles. The uniqueness of this place is used in numerous campaigns:
